Shaun Bowler

Shaun is a sustainability specialist with strategic and operational experience spanning a variety of sectors and industries. He is particularly skilled in stakeholder management, developing project and programme strategies, managing change, and delivering complex projects.

Shaun is a Korimako associate.  He is currently helping the Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology/Aoraki to deeply embed sustainable practices across every aspect of their operations and learning delivery - working with CPIT/Aoraki’s council, staff, students and community.  He has advised the Central Otago District Council and Waihi community on community-led approaches to sustainable development.  Shaun is an accredited Natural Step advisor.

Shaun has extensive experience with biomass renewable energy systems and organic waste management.  He has managed wood energy and biomass market development programmes for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA).

Shaun is also a director of Big Hanna Composter Ltd, an onsite food waste composting solution for commercial hospitality businesses and other large organisations.

Shaun’s qualifications include:

  • Master of Science (Honours 1st Class) from the University of Auckland
  • New Zealand Treasury Better Business Case Practitioner
  • PRINCE2® Project Management Practitioner
  • Accredited Business Advisor for The Natural Step
  • Bachelor of Science, University of Otago
