Seeking Innovation Advisors in Sarajevo and Zagreb to join our city innovation work in SE Europe

Korimako and Smart UP are together seeking local Innovation Advisors to join our community and city innovation work in south-east Europe.

We are looking for Innovation Advisors to be based in:

– Sarajevo, BiH

– Zagreb, Croatia

By ‘Innovation Advisor,’ we mean individuals who are experienced in helping organizations implement innovation, and passionate about navigating uncertainty to drive ambitious community change and improve quality of life for all.

These roles will be part of a regional team delivering an exciting new three-year public sector innovation program. Together, we will support local governments in SE Europe to develop their innovation capacities, embed innovative practices into their organizations through tackling complex city challenges, and deliver tangible benefits for residents. 

Key activities and responsibilities:

– Acts as a local Innovation Advisor and representative of a regional programme partnership supporting public sector innovation in Southeast Europe.

– Works closely with local municipality innovation team – supporting design and implementation of a portfolio of innovation experiments.

– Plans and delivers tailored advice, capacity development, and training on innovation practices, methodologies, and skills – working as part of a regional team.

– Engages in strategic dialogue with senior municipal staff / leadership.

– Leads local learning processes – ensuring data gathering, insights generation, and program evaluation to inform and refine innovation efforts.

– Supports the municipality’s participation in the broader program, ensuring they meet program goals and effectively engage in cross-program learning and exchange.

– Seeks out and develops partnerships and funding opportunities to sustain, embed, and expand innovation practices locally and across Southeast Europe.

– Participates in regular coordination meetings, program events, and peer learning activities.

– Takes ownership of parts of program reporting, ensuring timely and structured documentation of key insights, progress, and impact in collaboration with municipal partners.
