Empowering communities to create fair, cooperative and clean mobility systems across Southeast Europe
We see a great opportunity for community social enterprises to accelerate a shift to cleaner electric mobility systems on a local scale. Taking a leading role in the rollout of vital electric vehicle charging infrastructure is a key move, with integrated renewable power generation and shared electric vehicles alongside.
Through this project we are supporting citizens to take the lead in creating Community Mobility Co-operatives. We offer awareness-raising, trainings, seed-funding and advisory support for citizens, local communities, NGOs and municipalities.
Through this project, we are seeking to build a scalable, community-driven model for equitable and sustainable e-mobility across the region.
Korimako takes a leading role in cross-cutting capacity development, design of training programmes, economic opportunity assessment and developing a base social enterprise model. We lead community coaching, capacity building and advice on community mobility in Slovenia.
This Community Mobility Co-operatives project is supported by the European Climate Initiative (EUKI) of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN). The project is coordinated by University of Ljubljana and in partnership with SmartUp – Social Innovation Lab (N.Macedonia), Platform for Energy Transition (Serbia) and Asociatia Orase Energie in Romania (Romania).
