Creating a portfolio of sustainable community actions for London Borough of Sutton.
Tim Taylor undertook a long-term secondment assignment with the sustainability team at London Borough of Sutton, UK. Tim led development of a portfolio of innovative new sustainability projects to help deliver on the council’s One Planet Sutton aspirations. These projects were aimed at delivering action on:
- Green economy development
- Renewable community energy investment
- Climate change mitigation
- Fuel poverty and domestic energy efficiency
- Exemplar eco-districts
- A community currency
This work included developing project plans, engaging with partners, developing funding bids and preparing project business cases. A successful application was made to the European Regional Development Fund.
Tim also organised the Sutton Energising the Sustainable Economy in Cities summit in October 2016, bringing together EU cities and organisations to share best practices for catalysing sustainable energy investment and sustainable economy development.
